Farris Law Group, PLLC (Firm) is a law firm that provides real estate and mortgage banking legal services. The Firm has the ability to represent a client in all stages of a real estate or mortgage transaction, from acquisition through foreclosure if necessary. The Firm has the expertise to close residential and commercial real estate transactions. Our mission is to protect our clients’ interests by providing quality legal services. To achieve this mission, we concentrate on maintaining a diverse, experienced staff whose focus is on meeting or exceeding the needs and expectations of our clients. Additionally, we invest and maintain an advanced technological operation that is continually being updated.

Founder: Matthew R. Farris

Mr. Farris has been practicing law for over 15 years. Mr. Farris has concentrated his practice in the area of commercial and residential real estate transactions. Mr. Farris represents buyers, sellers, homebuilders and developers in the acquisition, financing, development, and disposition of real estate. He also represents lenders, investors and servicers throughout the state of Texas and provides comprehensive services in residential and commercial real estate transactions, including, loan document preparation, fulfillment services, real estate closings, short sales, foreclosures, bankruptcies, evictions, sequestrations and related litigation. He has owned and operated title companies over the past 8 years.

- Education: Mr. Farris received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from Texas Christian University and his Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University School of Law.

Acquisitions, Sales and Exchanges

We assist clients in the negotiation and closing of real estate acquisitions and sales, including the preparation of purchase agreements, conveyancing documents, financing documents, tax-deferred and multiple-party exchange agreements, escrow instructions and other related documents.

Real Estate Development

We assist clients in all types of real estate development, including shopping center, industrial, residential, hotel and downtown developments. We have extensive experience in the creation and operation of residential, commercial and mixed-use condominiums and planned unit developments.

Our team handles everything from project-level agreements and permits to entity-level and strategic transactions, private equity transactions, and debt transactions.

Partnership, Joint Venture, and Real Estate Investment

We regularly are involved in structuring and documenting limited liability companies, real estate partnerships and joint ventures, and our lawyers advise regarding the structuring of real estate investments.


We represent clients seeking financing and represent regional and national lending institutions. We advise clients on current methods and alternatives in real estate financing and assist in the structuring and documentation of real estate mortgages, deeds of trust, contracts of sale and other financing transactions, such as sale-and-leasebacks.
